VERO BEACH — Individual speaker tickets are currently on sale at The Emerson Center for the 2014 Celebrated Speakers Series. The tickets are for the two remaining engaging and informative speakers in the series presented at The Emerson Center at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach.
Individual tickets are $75 each for the 4 p.m. performance; $65 each for the 6:30 p.m. performance with the latter offering better seat selection.
Appearing on March 1 is Jon Meacham. An accomplished historian with a deep knowledge of politics, religion and current affairs, Meacham is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author.
American Lion, his book about Andrew Jackson, debuted at No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list and won the Pulitzer for biography in 2009. Meacham’s latest book is Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power.
The former Newsweek editor is a contributing editor at Time and executive editor at Random House. He co-anchored the public affairs broadcast “Need to Know” on PBS and is a regular panelist on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” He has also appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and “Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central.
He has written for the New York Times, New York Times Book Review, Washington Post, Slate, and the Los Angeles Times Book Review.
Concluding the series on Saturday, March 22, is Jon Huntsman, Jr. The former Utah Governor, Huntsman has lived a remarkable life in business and in public service including being a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
