SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian Police Department is investigating a report that a stranger offered elementary school children doughnuts.
The incident occurred Wednesday around 8:30 a.m. at a bus stop at the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Foster Road in Sebastian, according to a police bulletin.
The children turned down the older white male driving a gold, crossover type vehicle, the first time. Approximately 20 minutes later, he approached the children again. They again declined and the driver left.
The Sebastian Police Department is continuing to patrol all the areas of the city with an effort to keep all residents and children safe, according to the department’s facebook page.
Authorities ask that parents continue to supervise their children and keep an eye on other children around you, organize bus-stop supervision when children stand by waiting for their bus and return from school.
No particular person has been identified in this incident, according to authorities. People are encouraged to report any suspicious activity.
