John H. Banks, 90, of Indian River Shores, passed away on Feb. 15, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlen Banks; daughters, Georgia Grejtak, and Charlotte May; sons, John L. Banks, and James H. Banks; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was born in New York, N.Y., and had been a resident of Indian River Shores for 21 years, coming from Scarsdale, N.Y.
Banks was a graduate of the Pomfret School, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII.
He attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Banks was a member of Johns Island Club and Quail Valley Club both of Vero Beach and Shenorock Shore Club in Rye, N.Y.
At the request of the family, services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
