Joan Hegedus, 78, of Sebastian, passed away on Feb. 12, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Donna and Brenda; their father, Joseph Hegedus; and her grandson, Sam Welch.
She was preceded in death by her son, Glen, and her second husband, Peter P. Staniskis.
Hegedus was born on Nov. 11, 1935 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J., to Jacob and Mary Bauer. She attended grade school in Randolph, N.J., and high school in Roxbury, N.J.
She retired from Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, N.J., after 20 years of service. She relocated to Sebastian and then Chesapeake, Va.
The viewing will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay. Don Iskra will perform the eulogy at 11 a.m., which will then be followed by the mausoleum entombment at Fountainhead Memorial Park. Refreshments will be served.
