SEBASTIAN — A Palm Bay man was arrested for DUI Feb. 14 around Midnight after being observed driving more than 99 mph in a 35 mph zone on US 1 south of Main Street in Sebastian, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Gregory Kwoka, 51, was seen traveling southbound on US 1, according to authorities. Kwoka failed to stop and was followed by authorities for about two miles. Kwoka came to a complete stop at the Wells Fargo Bank.
Kwoka appeared to be confused, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Alcohol was detected on Kwoka’s breath.
He said he had “three beers,” according to the arrest report. Two cans of beer were empty in the back seat of his vehicle. Kwoka consented to field sobriety tests but advised he had a back injury because he fell off a four-story building.
After he took a few steps and lost his balance, he said, “No, I just want to go home,” the arrest report states.
Kwoka was transported to the Indian River County Jail where he consented to a lawful test of his breath to determine its alcohol content. Kwoka blew a .259, and a .272, according to authorities.
Kwoka faces charges of driving under the influence.
