Indian River County authorities save two after boat sinks at Oslo Boat Ramp

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Members of the Indian River County Fire Rescue and the marine unit responded to the Oslo Boat Ramp to rescue two boaters after their boat sank, according to scanner traffic.

They were reportedly hanging onto a channel maker 100 yards out from the boat ramp when the marine unit was able to rescue them.

According to Justin Forget, of Indian River Fire Rescue, the boaters did not sustain injuries. He also said the boat capsized due to strong winds.

The vessel was a jon boat, which will be secured to the boat ramp waiting for the owner to retrieve it.
