15+ pounds of marijuana seized in month-long investigation

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A month-long investigation that included the United States Postal Service, Sebastian Police, and Vero Beach Police departments resulted in the seizure of more than 15 pounds of marijuana, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Properties searched were in the 100 block of 12th Street and the 1500 block of 20th Avenue SW, according to authorities. The marijuana seized was considered high grade. Approximately $3,000 in “drug money” was also seized.

Michael Fedick and Clifton Garrison were arrested in connection to this operation, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Garrison faces a charge of possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

Fedick was reportedly receiving more than 200 pounds of marijuana each month from California through the United States Postal Service, according to authorities. The drugs were shipped with other items, including children’s books and crossword puzzles.

More arrests are expected as the investigation continues, according to the Sheriff’s Office.


INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Twelve pounds of marijuana was found during an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office MACE Unit narcotics investigation in the 1500 block of 20th Avenue SW, according to authorities.

The investigation involved a package that was delivered to Michael Fedick, 28, in the 800 block of 48th Avenue, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Fedick put the unopened package into his trunk and then left the area driving erratically on the way to his residence in the 1500 block of 20th Avenue SW. Fedick’s listed occupation is a sales person.

During a search after a warrant was obtained, 1,497 grams of marijuana was located in three separate clear plastic bags in the original brown box which was in the garage, according to authorities.

During an interview, Fedick said he received several shipments of marijuana and then took it and sold it in the county, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Fedick faces charges of felony possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was released from the Indian River County Jail on $1,000 bond.
