INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Impact 100, the all-women’s collective funding organization, has announced the expansion of Impact Day to Impact Week Jan. 27-30 – a whole week set aside for Impact 100 members and guests to tour the facilities of the 2013 grant recipients and see the results of the $100,000 grants awarded last April.
“We want our members and guests to learn about the work of the local nonprofit organizations we support…to see for themselves the high level impact our members are making with their donations,” said Impact 100 President Linda Knoll.
A panel discussion at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Quail Valley River Club, will feature last year’s grant recipients and be moderated by Knoll. The panel will feature Judy Miller, Big Brothers/Big Sisters; Vicki Soule, Treasure Coast Community Health Family Dental; Lalita Janke, Camp Haven; and Karen Deigl, Senior Resource Association.
“This panel will provide the opportunity to hear firsthand from the key management of our Community Partners exactly how every penny of the grant money has been used and the impact it has made on the community,” said Knoll.
A wine and cheese reception for all members and guests sponsored by Vero Insurance will be held at the conclusion of the panel discussion. There are no charges for the tours or the reception. The event will be a final opportunity for joining Impact 100 for this season.
Tours will also be held between 2 and 3 p.m. at each Community Partner’s Vero Beach location:
- Monday, Jan. 27: Big Brothers/Big Sisters (at the United Way offices); 1836 14th Ave.
- Tuesday, Jan. 28: Treasure Coast Community Health Family Dental; 1545 9th St., SW (Oslo Road).
- Wednesday, Jan. 29: Camp Haven; 3256 U.S. 1
- Thursday, Jan. 30: Senior Resource Association (Schumann Hall); 694 14th Street
Women interested in learning about Impact 100 are encouraged to attend Impact Week. “To sign up for the panel, the reception or any of the tours,” said Carolyn Antenen, Impact Week chair.

Impact 100 began in 2008; members are all women, who each donate $1,000. These donations are pooled together to provide $100,000 grants at the annual meeting in April. In 2013, 429 women joined, enabling Impact 100 to donate $429,000 in grants to local nonprofits.
“If our membership exceeds the 400-member level again, we will definitely reach our goal of providing $2 million to Indian River County in six years”, said Knoll.
