June Kragh ‘Aunt June’ Oetzel, 96, of Vero Beach passed away on Jan. 15, 2014.
She is survived by nieces Kathy Kragh and Penny A. Kragh; nephews Niels C. Kragh and Bruce A. Kragh; great-nieces and nephew, Kristina Cleveland, Laura Kragh and Robb Kragh; and great-great-niece Kali Kragh.
Kragh was born in Detroit, Mich., on June 28, 1917. She lived in Ferndale, Mich., where she graduated from Ferndale High School.
Kragh was employed at Fisher Body in Warren, Mich. as a graphic engineer from 1947 until she retired in 1975.
In 1978 she moved to Vero Beach where she lived until she married Fred Oetzel in 1982. The couple lived in Sebastian until 1986 when they moved into the newly built Indian River Estates in Vero Beach. She was preceded in death by Fred Oetzel in 1995.
Kragh was very active in the Audubon Society. She and her late husband were an important part in getting legislation in place to protect senior citizens from unrestricted price increases in their housing costs.
She enjoyed traveling and a good game of cards. Many a day was spent playing Skip-Bo and Bridge with the other residents of Indian River Estates. She was an intelligent, caring woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
