VERO BEACH — City Council members unanimously approved an ordinance rezoning the property where the dog exercise area is currently located from marina zoning to park zoning.
Now the ordinance will be sent through two public hearings. The first public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4 and the second on Feb. 8.
The change would not affect the city’s ability to expand marina facilities as long as it’s the city marina. However, a commercial marina could not operate under the park zoning, according to Planning Director Tim McGarry.
This ordinance does not include a formal dog park designation.
