Louise ‘Lou’ Krause of Vero Beach passed away on Jan. 8.
Krauss was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, George Krauss. She is survived by her sons, Scott Mackenzie and Randall Mackenzie; stepson Rick Krauss; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Krauss was born in Newark, N.J. and went to Columbia High School before attending Colby Junior College in New Hampshire. She married during WWII and later had two sons. After living in New Jersey for many years, she moved to Vero Beach where she and her husband lived many happy years. Krauss was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Genealogy Society, the Garden Club, and the Vero Beach Country Club. Krauss loved to talk about family and spent many hours researching the family tree. She was a caring wife, mother, friend, relative and neighbor to many and will be missed.
A memorial service for Krauss will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach, Fla. 32960. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House c/o VNA 1110 35th lane, Vero Beach, Fla. 32960.
