Doris Day Attlee, 93, died January 13, 2014 at her home in Vero Beach.
Attlee was born in Plainfield, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 60 years coming from Watchung, N.J.
Attlee was a graduate of North Plainfield High School, North Plainfield, N.J. Class of 1938.
Attlee was a secretary and bookkeeper for the Indian River County Welfare Department.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.
She was a member of the Aware and Pairs and Spares Sunday School Classes at First Methodist.
Attlee was a life member of the Indian River Garden Club, the Vero Beach Women’s Club, the Vero Beach Lions Club and the VFW in North Plainfield, N.J.
She was a volunteer at Riverside Theater, was a member of the Indian River Memorial Hospital Lady’s Auxiliary and a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharandee Attlee (Runge) and Janine A. McCall (Michael L.), both of Vero Beach; granddaughters, Shayla Runge Hobbs (David), and their children Cole and Ashton of Hallam, Pa., and Tawnya McCall Timmel (Michael) and their children John Michael, Emma, Katharine and Luke, of Gotha; grandsons, Joshua Runge (Shannon), and their children, Jacob, Gracie and Gage of Marble, N.C., and M. Jeremy McCall (Dana) and their children Rachel, Kayla, Marissa and Abigail of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Attlee was preceded in death by her husband V. Thomas “Tom” Attlee.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1750 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Mrs. Attlee.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach with Dr. Jeff Stiggins officiating.
Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.
