Angry caller threatens to shoot school secretary in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — Deputies were asked to respond to the Freshman Learning Center after a secretary there received a call from an angry parent threatening to put a bullet in her head, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant Principal David Humphrey called authorities on Dec. 29, reporting the threatening call.

The caller began cursing at the secretary as she was trying to help find information. The subject then said, “if she didn’t get any help she was going to respond to the school and put a bullet in someone’s head,” according to the deputy’s report.

The caller only said she was a mother.

When authorities responded to the address associated with the phone number, residents said that a homeless person made the call, according to the Sheriff’s Office. When asked why the person had called, they said they had no idea.
