Drugs, guns lead to arrest of Gifford man

GIFFORD — Sheriff deputies arrested a Gifford man who faces charges of aggravated assault and grand theft Tuesday night, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a disturbance near the 4000 block of 38th Avenue where Wright had allegedly pointed a firearm at two females and had stolen a cell phone.

Marijuana was visible from the open doorway at 3855 44th Pl., according to authorities – Wright’s believed residence. That lead to a search warrant. MACE detectives were then called to the scene.

Two firearms, approximately 196 grams of methylone (molly), 271 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a black ski mask were all found at the residence by investigators, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Wright is being held at the Indian River County Jail on $25,000 bond. The investigation continues on Wright’s alleged involvement with the confiscated weapons and drugs.
