Barbara Cuthbertson to address Democratic Women’s Club

VERO BEACH — Author, advocate, and anthropologist Barbara Cuthbertson will address members and guests of the Democratic Women’s Club of Indian River County at the group’s Jan. 11 luncheon meeting.

Cuthbertson’s recently published book, Conversations with Eve, offers an examination of gendered hierarchy and a motivational approach to helping women reclaim the power to change the world.

A native Floridian, Cuthbertson earned a master’s degree in applied, cultural anthropology from the University of South Florida. She served as an executive director of Planned Parenthood before turning her focus to initiating and facilitating conversations surrounding cultural characteristics and social inequality.

Cuthbertson spent years researching and connecting the historical and contemporary problems, passions, and social positions of women. Her discussions with participants around the globe are designed to refute myths, enhance understanding, and encourage and inspire meaningful action.

Saturday’s luncheon meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Trattoria Dario, 1555 Ocean Dr. in Vero Beach.

The event is open to the public but reservations are required. Please email DemLunch@aol.com.
