Susan Mary Cort McHugh, Vero Beach

Susan Mary Cort McHugh, died Dec. 5, 2013 at her home in Vero Beach.

She was born in Yorkshire, England, attended Ackworth School and worked for Elizabeth Arden in London.

On Feb. 22, 1958, she married Dr. William D McHugh and they lived in London and Birmingham, England, and Dundee, Scotland, before immigrating to Rochester, N.Y. in 1970.

Survivors include two children, Moira A. Douglas, of Lake Worth, and Alan N.C. McHugh (Jeanne Heffernan), of Tuxedo Park, N.Y.; two grandchildren, David W. Douglas and Cordelia E. McHugh; her husband; her sister Margaret R. Rothchild (Eric), of Seattle, Wash.; and her brother Geoffrey M. Court (Jean), of Kent, England.

She was a board member and president of the Council of the George Eastman House and International Museum of Photography, along with many other charitable causes.

In 1992, Susan and her husband started to spend winters in Vero Beach and in 1998, settled there full time.

Family services will be private.
