VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Music Department will present their annual holiday concert, Deck the Halls, on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, located at 1707 16th St.
The concert will include several traditional pieces such as The Christmas Concerto by Arcangelo Corelli, to be performed by the VBHS Symphony Orchestra, led by Mr. Matt Stott. Other tunes to be performed by the VBHS Jazz Band include Jingle Bells and A Very Merry Christmas directed by Mr. James Sammons and Mr. Page Howell.
The performance will also feature the VBHS Concert and Show Choirs with some beautiful tunes such as Wassail Song by Ralph Vaughan Williams, The Holly and the Ivy, and other carols led by Mr. Gregory Harris and Ms. Karen Wiggins as accompanist.
The combined performance of the chorus and orchestra will conclude the concert with the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.
In the giving spirit of the holidays, the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center will present a donation of a portion of the ticket sales from Deck the Halls to the American Red Cross in order to benefit Disaster Relief. Please show your support to this worthy cause.
