VERO BEACH — Christmas is a season of giving and receiving. The Academy for the Performing Arts, Vero’s community music school, will give the gift of music, poetry, and prose in its annual concert, “Christmas Is Coming!” on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 2022 16th Ave.
The free concert will feature talented faculty & friends from throughout the community and specially selected students in a performance of the sights and sounds of the season. Think of crisp December evenings glistening with snow, the nativity of the Christchild, yuletide carols, favorite Christmas melodies, and maybe even a cameo appearance of Santa.
The concert is a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday. Join us to receive the “gifts of the season.”
This is a free event; no RSVP required, and all ages are welcome. Sorry, but childcare is not available.
Being that this is a benefit event for the Music for Youth Scholarship Program, a free will offering will be appreciated. The academy makes a difference, through the Music for Youth Scholarship Program, in the lives of school age students who cannot otherwise afford music instruction.
Many of our scholarship students have gone on to college and pursued their music careers professionally.
Music instruction offered by the academy includes lessons in piano, jazz piano, voice, guitar, brass & woodwinds, and percussion, including the drums, marimba, and timpani.
The academy is in its 19th year of operation and boasts a distinguished and professional faculty of music instructors offering a comprehensive curriculum to challenge students of all ages.
