VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Rotary Club has undertaken another major commitment in addition to its two major fundraisers, the Nautical Flea Market to help the lagoon and the Learning Alliance to help the Indian River County children.
The Vero Beach Rotary Club will conduct a month long fundraiser for Philippine hurricane relief.
Although some may have reservations about donating to overseas humanitarian efforts, this is different. The money that is raised will be sent directly to two Rotary Clubs in the Philippines.
The money will be administered by these two Rotary Clubs with no “middlemen” and with a guarantee that the funds will be spent for hurricane relief.
Since Rotary is known around the world for their work in water supply and sanitation, it only makes sense for a sister Rotary Club to administer our donations.
This effort through our clubs will create a larger circle and give donors the confidence that “every last cent” will be put to immediate use to fight against disease and produce clean water.
It is well known that Rotary was the major agency in the eradication of polio throughout the world and is still on the forefront today fighting the three outbreaks reported this year.
Our Vero Beach Rotary Club will report back to our donors with firsthand accounts of how our donations were spent and to what effect.
Please lend a heart to this immediate cause.
All donations will be released to our “District Relief Fund” then sent to the Rotary Zone Coordinator in the Philippine’s Rotary districts 3830, 3850, and 3860.
Please visit the website www.VeroRotary.com to see what happens when you support us.
Please make all checks payable to the Vero Beach Rotary Charities Foundation, Inc., then send to P.O. Box 2013, Vero Beach, FL 32961-2013.
All donations are tax deductible due to our foundation’s 501(C)3 charitable status.
