SEBASTIAN – A naked man walking through Sebastian last week was arrested after a passerby called authorities to report him.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and found the man, identified as 22-year-old Jon Meyer, sitting on a curb along US 1 near Main Street.
When asked where his clothes were, Meyer told authorities that he had taken them off while walking. He also said he was walking from Columbus, Ga., to Miami, the Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Meyer later told authorities that he had taken DMX (dextromethorphan), a cough suppressant. Officials detected a slight odor of alcohol on Meyer, as well.
Meyer was arrested and faces a charge of disorderly intoxication. He remains in the county jail in lieu of $500 bond.
