Camp Haven Board welcomes Sue Rux

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Sue Rux has been appointed to the Camp Haven Board of Directors. She brings over 40 years experience in management and program development to the organization.

Ms. Rux has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Administration, and a Master’s of Social Work (MSW.) Her residential experience includes operating a shelter for abused women and a center for homeless families.

Besides her residential experiences, Ms. Rux has extensive expertise in serving people with disabilities, disadvantaged groups living in poverty, vocational rehabilitation, and mental health.

“I have seen the positive impact professionally rendered services can make with the homeless. The power that hope, guidance, and perseverance can mean the difference between a self-sufficient life and a life of poverty. Camp Haven will offer that new beginning for people,” said Ms. Rux.

The mission of Camp Haven is to provide supportive living and transformational opportunities for Indian River County adult residents who are committed to rising out of homelessness.
