Thompson, Hacket to lead United Way

FORT PIERCE — The United Way of St. Lucie County Board of Trustees elected Marsha Thompson, MBA, to serve as Board Chair for 2013-2014. Prior to her many years of service on the United Way Board of Directors, Thompson served as a campaign volunteer.

“Marsha brings leadership, experience, and commitment to the board of directors. She is an asset to our community. It’s a pleasure working with her as United Way continues to advance the common good in St. Lucie County,” Knapp explained.

Thompson is a retired Assistant Professor and Director of the Career Development Program at IRSC; she now works as an adjunct instructor.

Jill L. Hacket, SPHR, MHRM, M.B.A., has been named 2013-2014 Campaign Chair for United Way of St. Lucie County. Hacket currently serves as Director of Human Resources for the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute of Florida (VGTI Florida.)

“Although Jill is new to the board, she has graciously stepped forward to accept this important leadership role. Jill is a community leader with a kind heart; I believe she will work hard to help make this campaign a success,” added Knapp.

Hacket leads and develops the human resources initiatives for a collaborative and diverse, multidisciplinary team of scientists and administrative staff from around the world.
