Stabbing suspect arrested in Vero Beach

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The suspect sought in a stabbing that occurred overnight Sunday has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and armed trespassing, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Dominque Wilcox-Brownlee, 21, was arrested Monday night around 9 p.m. in the 1000 block of 36th Street, according to authorities.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who was involved in a stabbing overnight Sunday, according to authorities.

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old St. Lucie County resident, Dominque Wilcox-Brownlee.

The stabbing occurred in the 400 block of 13th Street SW in Indian River County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

According witnesses Wilcox-Brownlee had been arguing with her two roommates about the payment of rent. The roommates, a male and female, left their home in St. Lucie County and decided to stay with a relative in Indian River County to avoid continuing the argument.

Around 11:30 p.m., Wilcox-Brownlee arrived at the victim’s relatives home in the 400 block of 13th Street SW, according to authorities. Witnesses report that an argument took place in the front yard between the relative and Wilcox-Brownlee.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the altercation escalated when Wilcox-Brownlee stabbed the victim twice in the head and twice in the leg. The suspect left in her vehicle with another female. The car was found a few blocks away where another witness reported that Wilcox-Brownlee fled on foot. 

The victim was later treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from the Indian River Medical Center.
