VERO BEACH — Certified Fund Raising Executive International has recertified Margaret Anne Gibbs as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE.)
Gibbs, Development Manager at Indian River Habitat for Humanity (IRHFH,) joins more than 5,600 professionals worldwide who hold the CFRE designation. Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International, which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement, and commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations.
They have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights and are required to pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive. Gibbs was originally certified Sept. 1, 2010.
“The CFRE credential was created to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills, and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner.
As the certification is a voluntary achievement, the CFRE credential demonstrates a high level of commitment on the part of Margaret Gibbs to herself, the fundraising profession, and the donors who are served,” stated Jim Caldarola, CFRE, chair of CFRE International.
To maintain certification status in the dynamic field of fundraising, CFRE recipients must be recertified every 3 years and must demonstrate on-going fundraising employment, fundraising results, and continuing professional education.
Employers and donors who work with CFREs know they are getting someone who is committed to the best outcomes for their organization and someone who is committed to their profession.
Gibbs has been in her current position with IRHFH for six years and has been employed in the not-for-profit sector for 14 years.
CFRE International is an independent organization whose sole mission is dedicated to the certification of fundraising executives by setting standards in philanthropy.
