Remembering Florida in a simpler time

VERO BEACH — The Main Street Vero Beach (MSVB) Gallery will introduce the gorgeous and fascinating art of Larry Lavargna at the First Friday Gallery Stroll this Friday, Oct. 4, from 5-8 p.m. Galleries in the Arts District downtown will provide refreshments, delectables, and feature the creativity of numerous local artists.

The First Friday Gallery Stroll along 14th Ave. is one of historic downtown’s regular events helping to rekindle community pride and focus on the ever more exciting downtown environment.

MSVB Gallery’s Featured Artist for October is especially extraordinary, as he is a painter who captures every essence of the beautiful Florida life-style. Born in Miami, FL, Lavargna loves to make his audience feel like he or she is one with his work.

“It may only be a temperature or a breeze, but I want you to feel like you can step into my work. If the light is right, the feeling follows,” Lavargna stated.

Lavargna lets scenes of buildings, boats, and places around Florida remind him of the simpler time. Many of Larry’s memories consist of fishing from the bridges of Rickenbacker Causeway and later, by boat in Biscayne Bay, around Elliott Key, the upper Keys, and Flamingo in the Everglades National Park.

Lavargna not only receives encouragement from the Florida atmosphere but also from his wife and two sons, whom all reside in Sebastian. Larry is excited to meet the people of Vero Beach and will be on hand to discuss his work Friday night.

Furthermore, his art will continue to be available at the Gallery throughout the month of October.

Main Street Vero Beach Studios & Gallery is a collective leasing space for artists to create, feature, and sell their work.
