Narcia Novalee McCullers, 73, Vero Beach

Narcia Novalee McCullers, 73, died along with her husband of 56 years, Doyle McCullers, unexpectedly Sept. 25, 2013 in Vero Beach.

McCullers was born in Maryville, Tenn., and lived in Indian River County for 62 years, coming from her birthplace.

She was a graduate of Fellsmere High School class of 1957.

McCullers worked for the Fellsmere Post Office, The Beach Bank of Vero Beach, the City of Vero Beach and she retired from the Town of Indian River Shores as Town Clerk after 16 years of service.

She was an active member of King’s Baptist Church, Vero Beach, serving in many capacities, including the church library.

Survivors include sons, Steve McCullers, of Panama City Beach and David McCullers, of Vero Beach; daughters, Donna Mattingly (Andrew), of New Albany, Ind., Brenda Kmetz (Michael), of Vero Beach and Peggy Goff (Kevin), of Tallahassee; granddaughters, Jennifer Kmetz (Cory Suter), of Orlando, and Samantha Kmetz, of Vero Beach; grandson, Brandon Kmetz, of Vero Beach; brother, Thomas Davis, of Palm Bay; and sister, Brooksie Dancy, of Leesburg.

McCullers was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ava Davis; brothers, Homer Davis, Earnest Davis and Robert Davis and sister, Joy Davis.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kings Baptist Church library in memory of McCullers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at King’s Baptist Church, Vero Beach with Rev. Frank Ellis officiating.
