Gifford woman stabs boyfriend in eye after he turns down sex

GIFFORD — A Gifford woman has been arrested after she stabbed a man in the eye, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday, around 4 a.m. the victim was sleeping in his bed when his girlfriend La Crystal King-Woolfork, 28, of Gifford, arrived home drunk, wanting to have sex with the victim. The victim stated that King-Woolfork became very angry and grabbed a knife when he told King-Woolfork he wasn’t having sex with her, according to authorities.

The victim attempted to get out of bed when King-Woolfork armed herself with a knife, according to the Sheriff’s Office. That is when she stabbed him in the eye.

The victim was able to disarm King-Woolfork and hid the knife between the mattresses of his bed and fled the scene. As he fled, he called another person for a ride to the hospital.

Along with the eye injury, the victim suffered a four inch laceration to his right shoulder and small cut to his head, according to authorities.

The knife was described as a large filet knife. It was located at the scene.

King-Woolfork, during questioning, stated that she was at the Shake Your Booty Club prior to the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office. King-Woolfork also stated that, when she entered the victim’s bedroom, she and another female started to perform sex acts on each other while the victim watched. When she asked him, to join he refused.

Once the other female left, King-Woolfork picked up the knife because she knew that the victim would be mad, according to authorities. When asked if the victim was mad she said “no.”

King-Woolfork stated she was holding the knife while she was talking to the victim because of a past history of violence.

According to King-Woolfork, during the struggle for the knife, the victim stomped her head several times, according to the report. King-Woolfork also said she hit the victim on the top of the head with her cell phone and it broke on his head.

King-Woolfork denies stabbing the victim, but did admit to hitting the victim several times with a metal candle holder, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

King-Woolfork faces a charge of attempted murder.
