Sebastian Chamber of Commerce welcomes new officers

SEBASTIAN — Theresa Tolle of Bay Street Pharmacy has been elected to serve as Chairwoman of the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for the year 2013/2014.

She is joined by Maggie Sammons of Custom Air Systems who will serve as Vice Chair, and Robert Daberkow, Hale Groves/Southern Fulfillment, as Treasurer. The 2012/2013 Chair, Debbie Vickers, Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, will serve as immediate Past Chair.

Newly elected to the board for a three year term is Ali Qizilbash, Cemco Construction.

Returning to serve on the Chamber Board are: Sandi Gehrke, TD Bank, Cynthia Hall, VandeVoorde Law Office, Betty Lollio, SeaCoast National Bank, Kim Ellis, Kim Ellis Insurance Agency, and Michelle Napier, Law Offices.

Also agreeing to serve as directors are Steven Salyor, Sebastian River Medical Center, Joel Stout, Sandpiper Pest Control, Amy Selby, Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, Chuck Mechling, Collier Club, and Capt. Christy Lenz, Casual Cruisin.

The board thanks outgoing member Patti Jamar, Park Place, for her many years of service to the chamber.

At the Installation Lunch held on Sept. 10 at Captain Hiram’s, the board also presented the following awards: Sebastian River Medical Center: Chamber Member of the Year, Chuck Mechling: Director of the Year, Don Wright: Volunteer of the Year, Capt. Christy Lenz: Tourism Leadership, Theresa Tolle: Legislative/Government Affairs, and Sue Skirvin: Tupperware, Ambassador of the Year.

Additionally, the board recognized the Tiki Bar and Grill with the Beautification and Renovation Award, and John Conway, Conway & Company, Sebastian Riverfront Resort, and Sebastian Vacation Rentals was presented the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce is a Certified Chamber through the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, representing over 500 businesses in the Sebastian River Area since 1958.

The chamber’s mission is to support business, promote tourism, and to enhance the quality of life for everyone in the Sebastian River Area.
