Orchid Island Club appoints new Executive Chef

VERO BEACH — Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jacques C. Larsen as Executive Chef to oversee the club’s three dining venues, as well as catering and special events.

Prior to joining Orchid Island’s dynamic team, Chef Larsen served as Executive Chef at the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, CT. With years of experience and exposure across a wide spectrum of culinary environments, Larsen’s specialty is with five-star hotels, exclusive private clubs, and fine dining establishments.

“I am looking forward to creating new and exciting dishes using fresh, local ingredients. I have had the benefit of studying under some of the best restaurant chefs around the world, and I am excited to share my diverse cooking experience with Orchid Island members,” explained Chef Larsen.

Larsen apprenticed under Alain Sailhac, Jacques Thiebeult, Zoltan De Bary, Mitsuo Kikuchi and has been actively involved in the American Culinary Federation.

He has studied abroad at numerous exclusive culinary schools including, but not limited to: Albatroz Hotel Cooking School, Cascais, Portugal; L’école Paul Bocuse, Lyon, France; Taberna Del Alabardero School, Sevilla, Spain; Tsuji Culinary School, Osaka, Japan; Apicius, The Culinary Institute of Florence, Tuscany, Italy; and The Blue Ribbon School, Cusco, Peru.
