VERO BEACH — The U.S. Postal Service has approved the relocation of the Vero Beach Tropic Branch, 600 6th Ave., to the Vero Beach Carrier Annex, located at 1551 U.S. 1 in the K-Mart plaza.
The facilities are 1.5 miles apart.
The relocation is part of the Postal Service’s cost-reduction and revenue-generation plan to maintain universal service and operate more efficiently in the face of dramatic decreases in mail volume and other economic factors that have caused net losses of over $25 billion in the past five years.
Tropic Branch customers will keep their current Post Office Box numbers and ZIP Codes. Retail hours will remain the same.
Notices of the approval have been placed in the Vero Beach Tropic Branch Post Office.
This decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date of this posting. An appeal must be postmarked by Sept. 30, and mailed to: Vice President, Facilities; Facilities Headquarters, 1300 Evans Ave. Ste. 200, San Francisco CA 94188-0200.
