Vero Beach Police apprehend PNC Bank robber

VERO BEACH — Vero Beach Police have arrested a suspect accused of robbing the PNC Bank on Beachland Boulevard this morning, according to authorities.

The suspect robbed the PNC bank, 590 Beachland Blvd. at 9:58 a.m. then fled. Police caught up with the suspect in the 500 block of Gardenia Lane.

No injuries were reported at the scene, however the suspect twisted his ankle while fleeing the scene and had to be transported to the Indian River Medical Center.

A small amount of money was taken but it was recovered, according to authorities.
