UPDATE: Police identify victim of possible homicide in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — Vero Beach Police have identified a possible homicide victim as Daniel Q. Stevens, 28, at Vero’s Motel, after the next of kin had been notified, according to authorities.

Police have no suspects at this time. Stevens was found by a cleaning lady this morning, according to police. He had been renting the room for the last three months.

The body was found in room 126 of the motel with “lots of blood,” according to police scanner traffic. A weapon was found in the room.

Stevens was pronounced dead by Indian River County Fire Rescue on the scene.
