John Charles Jandzen, 83, died July 25, 2013, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce.
He was born in Astoria, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from Wilmington, Del.
He was a 1951 graduate of Iona College, New Rochelle, N.Y.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean War as a first lieutenant, forward observer in the Artillery Division.
Before retirement in 1991, he had a 30-year career with IBM, working in Wilmington, Lexington, Ky., and Washington, D.C.
He served on various homeowner association boards, including Middlesex Beach in Bethany Beach, Del., and Sea Forest in Vero Beach.
He was member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joan M. Jandzen, of Vero Beach; son, Michael J. Jandzen, of Bethany Beach; daughter, Marie J. Wyatt, of Grasonville, Md.; and two grandsons.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 31 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
