Wayne R. Underwood, 68, died July 22, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Gary, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 13 years, coming from Crown Point, Ind.
He served in the Naval Reserves for four years.
Before retirement, he worked as an electrician for more than 30 years in Hammond, Ind., and was a member of the Local 697.
He also was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Barbara J. Underwood; daughter, Kelly Coplen, of Norfolk, Va.; son, Brian Underwood, of Holland, Mich.; sister, Jackie Servaty, of Portage, Ind.; and one grandchild.
Private family services will be at a later date.
