SEBASTIAN — The City of Sebastian, in partnership with its trash hauler, Waste Management (WM,) is introducing a new curbside cart collection garbage program for WM subscription customers.
WM subscription customers will receive a new 64-gallon garbage cart.
Curbside cart collection will start Monday, Aug. 12. Subscription customers can expect delivery of a new 64-gallon wheeled garbage cart between July 29 and Aug. 9.
“These wheeled carts are more convenient for the customer and allow for greater service efficiency,” said Al Minner, City of Sebastian City Manager.
Service days are not changing, and customers will continue to receive twice a week garbage collection and once a week yard waste collection.
“WM subscription customers will receive a postcard in the mail providing additional details about the program. Since the new cart program requires an automated side loader truck for collection, it is important residents do not use their new carts until the program begins on Aug. 12 when the trucks will have the correct equipment,” explained Amy Boyson, community affairs manager for WM.
