VERO BEACH — The May 2012 shark attack on a German tourist in Vero Beach will be featured on National Geographic Wild Channel’s new mini- series called When Sharks Attack: Surprise Shark Attack on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m.
The program will feature an interview with Karin Stei, the German tourist who was ferociously attacked by a shark, and the efforts to save her by Vero Beach lifeguards and police, Martin County LifeFlight, and Indian River County Fire/Rescue.
The gripping miniseries examines the people and events and possibly the causes of shark attacks around the globe.
The Vero Beach attack made national headlines because of the incredible series of events which unfolded.
