VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach man was arrested for allegedly committing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Vero Beach Police.
Daniel Viola, 46, of Vero Beach, was arrested at his home for threatening the victim with a kitchen knife, according to police.
Authorities observed Viola yelling and acting belligerent and detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the man.
The victim advised he was staying with a friend at a neighboring apartment and doesn’t know Viola, according to authorities. Viola reportedly started an altercation every time the victim visited his friend.
When the victim attempted to return to his friend’s apartment, Viola was standing at the top of the stairs with a steak knife, according to police. Viola then stated, “Get off the property or I am going to cut you like a pumpkin.”
Viola faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $2,500 bond.
