Sonia Silverman, 86, died July 3, 2013, at Horizon Bay Retirement facility in Vero Beach.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived most of her adult life in Miami, before moving to Vero Beach in 2011.
She worked as a substitute elementary school teacher for many years.
Survivors include her son, Gary Silverman, of Vero Beach; daughter, Judy Silverman, of Atlanta; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman.
Services will be in Miami.
