Fellsmere eighth grader accused of crashing stolen car

FELLSMERE — Two Fellsmere minors have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing a car, according to the Fellsmere Police Department.

Two minors, both 14, who attended Sebastian River Middle School, and Sebastian River High, allegedly stole a car from the Whispering Pines community Saturday and later crashed it near the Fellsmere Food Mart on North Broadway, according to police.

After one of the minors was read his rights, he told police that he had gained access into the home through an unlocked window, according to authorities. When asked, the minor admitted he did not have permission of the homeowner to be in the residence, nor did he have permission to take their Toyota.

The minor who did not crash the car, advised he was under the impression that the driver had permission to drive the car, according to police.

Both juveniles were taking into custody and face charges of burglary of a dwelling and grand theft of an automobile.
