Hospitality training course in Indian River County

VERO BEACH — Individuals looking for training that provides opportunity for jobs in hospitality and restaurant management at high-end restaurants and country clubs found in Indian River County will be interested in the new Hospitality training course now offered by the Indian River State College Corporate and Community Training Institute.

The CCTI at IRSC has partnered with Workforce solutions to offer this Hospitality and Restaurant Management training program in Indian River County. Other partners in the program include the John’s Island Beach Club, Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club, and Quail Valley Golf Club.

This program is free to eligible candidates, and upon completion of the course, will provide them with a national certificate in Hospitality and Restaurant Management. Many local high-end restaurants and country clubs are ready to hire students who complete this program.

Following National Restaurant Association guidelines, the Hospitality & Restaurant Management certificate course explores hospitality trends and environments in upscale dining and applies a “hands-on approach” to customer service in a fine dining atmosphere.

Topics include basic sanitation, effective communication with customers, decision-making, selling techniques, food and bar knowledge, bar and dining set-ups, supervision, and management training.

Classes start on Monday, July 15, and end on Friday, August 23. All classes will be held at the Indian River State College Mueller Campus in the Richardson Center.
