Lawrence William Smith, 63 of Sebastian, died at his home Monday July 1, 2013, with the service of the VNA Hospice.
He was born December 27, 1949, in Providence, R.I., and has been a resident of Sebastian for 14 years, moving here from East Providence.
Smith was a 1979 graduate of Johnson & Wales College in Providence, and was a veteran serving with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator of L & E Truck and Trailer in Johnston, R.I., for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ellen Smith; two sons, Lawrence W. Smith Jr., of Swansea, Mass. and Christopher Smith, of East Providence R.I.; brother Edward J. Smith, of Lincoln, R.I.; two sisters, Suzanne Steinmetz, of Sebastian, and MaryEllyn Hall, of Vero Beach; and two grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Smith and Ryan Lawrence Smith.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and donations may be made in his memory to VNA Hospice Vero Beach 1110 35th Lane Vero Beach, FL. 32960
