Charles Roger Meeker, 76, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his residence in Mills River, N.C.
Meeker graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY in 1954 and from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. in 1958.
He worked at the Department of Public Works in Yaphank, N.Y., and attained the level of Chief Engineer until his retirement.
Meeker was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Melbourne Beach and also attended St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, N.C.
He was an avid gardener and reader and enjoyed watching sports, especially all Boston teams.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Anne Black Meeker; son, Charles Roger Meeker Jr. and wife Sharon, of Fletcher, N.C.; daughters Kathryn Meeker Wamboldt and husband Robert, of Denver, Colo., Meighan Meeker, of Denver, Colo.; grandchildre n, Terra Morgan, Sebastian Meeker and Savannah Meeker.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
