Robert Earl Hockaday, 86, died June 22, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Selmer, Tenn., and lived in Vero Beach for one year, coming from Missouri.
He served in the Navy during Word War II and the Korean War aboard the SS Princeton.
He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Lawson and Cynthia Farinelli; sister, Shirley Manness; brother, Wayne Hockaday; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Cleo; son, Stanley; and daughter, Trishia.
No services are planned at this time.
