Richard H. Sheppard, 87, died June 1, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Everett, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach since 2006.
He was a graduate of Everett High School, Everett, Mass.
He was an Army veteran of World War II with the 25th Infantry Division in the Philippine Islands and Japan as a demolition specialist.
He was a 50-year member of the Galilean Masonic Lodge in Malden, Mass., and a member of the Aleppo Shrine Temple in Wilmington, Mass., and Vero Beach Shrine Club.
Before retirement, he was a salesman in the rubber and plastics industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Anna, in 2009.

A memorial service will be at a later date in Lynn, Mass.
