Dedication ceremonies held for Habitat homeowners

VERO BEACH — Three brand new Habitat homeowners shared dedication ceremonies with friends, volunteers, home sponsors, and supporters on Saturday, June 8, in their south Vero Beach neighborhood.

The Brad Burnham Memorial Fund was the Primary Sponsor and Piper was the Business and the Volunteer Sponsor for the home of Fanis Beton and his family.

The Moorings was the Primary and the Volunteer Sponsor and The Moorings Club was the Business Sponsor for the home of Vanessa Bell and her family.

John’s Island was the Primary Sponsor, Circle of Faith was the Volunteer Sponsor, and The John’s Island Club was the Business Sponsor for the home of Naomie Etienne and her family.

All Habitat homebuyers must meet certain requirements, some of which are: they must be able to make (interest-free) mortgage payments and afford insurance, they must work a certain number of Sweat Equity hours, and must successfully complete several classes covering many areas of homeownership.

At the end of the road to owning a Habitat home is the dedication ceremony, when, with family and friends, the family cuts the red ribbon and receives the key to their own front door.

Among the frequent reasons parents choose to pursue Habitat homeownership is so that their children can have a better, more safe and secure home, with space of their own to study and play.

The public is always invited to share these meaningful dedications. It is a good way to learn firsthand about Habitat homes and to meet the homeowners.

Our next dedication is set for June 22 at Noon. Please call (772) 562-9860 ext. 209 for further information.
