Irene Mashburn, 79, of Vero Beach, died May 23, 2013, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was a native of Dana, Ky.
Mashburn retired from the Indian River County school system after 25 years of service as a cafeteria employee.
Mashburn supported organizations such as March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, Children’s Miracle Network and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include her husband James T. Mashburn; son James A. (MaryAnn) Mashburn; daughter Carol Sommerville; brother Jessie Lee Boyd; sister Maggie Young; grandchildren: Bryon Mashburn, Amy Sommerville, Amanda (Michael) Tennison, Renee (Jim) Pavonetti , and Harry Sommerville.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay with interment to follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
