VERO BEACH — A free workshop for any Indian River County nonprofit organization interested in nominating an individual or business for this year’s National Philanthropy Day will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at U.S. Trust, 700 Beachland Blvd. in Vero Beach.
Registration and coffee will begin at 8:45 a.m. followed by the workshop from 9-10 a.m. There is no charge, and the workshop is open to all nonprofit organizations.
Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Indian River Chapter (AFPIR,) this annual nominations workshop is designed to provide all the information, tips, and insights an organization needs to submit a strong nomination.
Attendees will hear directly from colleagues and peers who have navigated the process before and are willing to share best practices. A nonprofit does not have to be a member of AFPIR to submit a nominee.
Topics to be covered include how to select a nominee, the process for submitting nominations, guidance on completing the nomination form, understanding the importance of the nomination process for the organization, and how nominating a donor or volunteer can help build and enhance relationships.
“The workshop officially launches the process of honoring individual and corporate philanthropists, dedicated volunteers, recognizing those who shape our community each and every day through their generosity and commitment.
That process culminates on November 19 during the National Philanthropy Day celebration to be held at the Vero Beach Museum of Art,” said Kerry Bartlett, CFRE, NPD Nominations Committee Chairperson.
Workshop registrations may be made online at www.AFPIndianRiver.afpnet.org or on the AFPIR Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/AFPFan.)
