Sheriff’s Office seeks robbers who pried open registers at Wal-Mart

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two robbers pried opened four registers getting away with almost $3,000 in cash at the Vero Beach Wal-Mart last week.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a grand theft that occurred in the Vero Beach Wal-Mart on May 22. The two suspects entered the store at approximately 8:49 p.m. and proceeded directly to the Garden Center, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Sheriff’s Office facebook post, once all of the customers and associates left the area, a suspect in a white shirt pulled out a crowbar and began to pry open four registers, removing more than $2,600 in cash while a suspect in a black shirt acted as a lookout.

Both exited the store, according to authorities, and left in a 4-door sedan, possibly a newer model dark blue Nissan Altima driven by a black female.

If you know the identity of either of these subjects please contact Detective Mike Snowhill at (772) 978-6136 or IRCSO Dispatch at (772) 978-6240.
