Samuel T. Bassett, 94, died May 19, 2013, at VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Boone County, Ky., and lived in Vero Beach for 36 years, coming from Franklin, Ohio.
He was a corporal in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years as a patternmaker.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Anne Folck of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nathalie; and companion, Helen Forsyth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Services and interment will be private.
