Raymond Leo Chenot, 87, Vero Beach

Raymond Leo Chenot, 87, died May 7, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Pawtucket, R.I., and lived in Vero Beach for 35 years, coming from Nashua, N.H.

He was a private investigator for more than 30 years in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida.

He was a Navy veteran, having served in World War II.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and American Legion Post 39 and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918 and The Veterans of Vero Beach.

He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Vero Beach. He held a private pilot’s license.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree from North Eastern University, Boston.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth M. Chenot, of Vero Beach; daughters, Donna and Barbara; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronald Bissett; grandson; and granddaughter.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. May 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with military honors to follow.

Interment will be in Concord, N.H., at a later date.
